The German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) requires the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol and take-back notices for electrical devices. From mid-2026, the online display obligations are being tightened.

What ElektroG / WEEE means
Anyone who sells electrical devices must register with a WEEE number, carry the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, and inform about the take-back of old devices. From 01.07.2026, corresponding notices must also be presented more clearly online.
